Agriculture Minister to Launch Pest Surveillance System on I-Day

New initiative to provide timely pest management advisories using AI and ML

New Delhi- The Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister is set to launch the National Pest Surveillance System on Independence Day. The launching ceremony will be held in New Delhi.

This new initiative by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare will use technology like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The system will provide timely and precise pest management advisories to farmers.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will interact with more than 1,000 farmers who are beneficiaries of various central government schemes. These farmers include those who are working under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, PM Fasal Bima Yojana, and FPO representatives.
