Lucknow— BAMCEF held its 39th convention in Lucknow. At the sidelines of the event The Mooknayak spoke to VILAS KHARAT, General Secretary of Bharat Mukti Morcha, offshoot wing of BAMCEF (The All India Backward [SC, ST, and OBC] and Minority Communities Employees Federation) and Director, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research Centre, New Delhi. Mr. Kharat, answered various questions, which are of paramount concern to the Bahujans. For example. The expansions of Bahujan movement, EWS reservation etc.
Two-day convention of BAMCEF (All India Backward and Minorities Employees Federation) was held on the 24th and 25th of December and today and today the convention of the offshoot wing, which is called Bharat Mukti Morcha started. The objective of this convention is to organize the society and increase their power and to train all delegates who have come here from all over the country.
What is your strategy on the reservation scam being carried in the name of EWS at the Central and the State level?
In the Indian constitution reservation on economic grounds is not mentioned and the BJP government is imposing thing which is not mentioned in the Constitution. And the Brahmins have not given any memorandum that they be given reservation. When they (the government) were asked whether they have any survey on the basis of which they (General Category) have been considered poor, they said no such survey has been done. The BJP government passed a law for this and the judges concurred with them. Which means that the Judiciary and the people of RSS and BJP are attacking the government and for this we will have to fight and to fight people will have to be awakened.
It has been observed that mostly Dalits join the Bahujan Movement and about 80-90% of the people in these movements are Dalits. What attempts are you making to add more people?
Since you are a journalist and therefore, I would like to give you a suggestion that the word Dalit is illegal and unconstitutional as is the word Harijan. But in North India, the Socialists identified them as Dalits to segregate the backward classes from the movement of Baba Saheb and this is wrong.
But your question as to the inadequate representation of OBC in proportion to their population. But if you see from the perspective of this organization, you will see that every caste, religion and social group is being represented here and if it is not represented it is because you people have placed more importance to the term “Dalit”.
The brahmins want to break backward and religious minorities from the ideology of Baba Saheb. If you call Dalits then the backward classes will not see the togetherness in them. The contribution of Babasaheb is also for the OBCs, Babasaheb resigned from the law ministry for the OBCs. The three gurus of Babasaheb, as told by him.. BUDDHA, Kabir and Jyotiba Phule and if you see in todays definition, all three of them are OBCs. So don’t frustrate the ideology of Babasaheb Ambedkar in the name of Dalit.
You have always refrained from the word Hindustan on the grounds that no one is Hindu in India, despite that many speakers here said that they are Hindus and Brahmins are not Hindus. Does this augur Hindu Rashtra in the Offing?
You misunderstood the crux. If some speaker is saying from his understanding that Brahmin is different and Hindu is different they are agonizing that we were declared nomadic tribes, how can our religion be the same? They said with affirmation that we have shunned that religion and adopted Buddhism. So when a speaker said such things. Our National President made conclusion and analysis on that topic.
The Hindu word, which is not there is Ramayana, Mahabharata, it is not there in any smriti, Shruti or rig Veda and it is a Persian language word which means black… slave… robber etc. And as the awareness amongst the people is growing they are calling themselves Bahujan..Mulnivasi… we have maulanaji with us.. Who is a Journalist and editor and he himself appeals to the Muslims that don’t say Hindus and it is a result of awareness. And awareness will not come from medicine, it will come from ideology.
