New Delhi- The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has decided to return Antim Panghal to India after she gave her Olympic Village accreditation to her sister, a move that led to her disqualification from the Olympic Games.

According to a statement from the IOA, Antim and her support staff will be sent back to India after a disciplinary breach was brought to the IOA's notice by the French authorities. The breach occurred after Panghal gave her accreditation to her sister to help her enter the Olympic Games Village.

The IOA said that Panghal breached disciplinary rules by giving her sister accreditation, and the French authorities complained to the IOA about this.

"Antim Panghal gave her accreditation to her sister to help her enter the Games Village on her accreditation. French authorities complained to the IOA, and that's why she will be sent back to India with her support staff," the statement said.

Panchal was on her way to fly back to India after losing her first match to Zeynep Yetgil of Turkey in the women's 53 kg freestyle round of 16 bout at the ongoing Summer Games. Earlier, Vinesh Phogat from India was disqualified from the 50 kg women's wrestling event for breaching the weight mark on Wednesday.

The Indian Olympic Association has so far won three bronze medals at the Paris Olympics, all in shooting. The country's wrestlers are continuing to perform well at the ongoing Summer Games.
