Kathmandu — As Nepal’s ruling coalition reviewed its 100-day achievements at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli dismissed rumors of the coalition’s collapse and warned against speculations that undermine its stability. In the face of these developments, opposition leaders led by CPN-Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal called on President Ram Chandra Paudel on Thursday, urging him to reject a controversial ordinance the government is reportedly preparing.

The opposition leaders believe Prime Minister Oli intends to leverage this ordinance to facilitate splits in smaller political parties, allowing him to absorb lawmakers from these groups into his own party, the UML, to secure a majority in the House of Representatives. They argued that such a move would destabilize the political landscape and compromise democratic norms.
