New Delhi- The National Trust for the Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation (Intellectual Disability) and Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan) is running the Samarth (Respite Care scheme), Gharaunda (Group Home for Adults scheme) and Samarth-cum-Gharaunda (Residential Care scheme) for people with disabilities who are orphaned, have a distressed family or are living in poverty.
Through its Registered Organizations (ROs), the National Trust has set up these centres across the country. A total of 40 such organisations have been given the option to run the residential care scheme for the disabled people.
According to the information given in the Annexure-A of the letter, the purpose of these residential care schemes is to provide lifelong care and support to the disabled people living in the country. The National Trust has set up these centres to enable the people with disabilities to live in a safe and homely environment.
