Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Thirteen Indian women artists showcased the rich cultural heritage of their homeland at the "Pravasi Parichay 2024" exhibition, which opened at the Indian Embassy in Riyadh this week. The exhibition, inaugurated by Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, features a diverse collection of paintings that highlight India's linguistic and cultural traditions.
The artists, all part of the Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia, aim to share their heritage with the Saudi community, strengthening the cultural bonds between the two nations. The exhibition features works by established artists including Nilofer Fatima, Susmitha Dhruva Chitradurga, and Vini Venugopal, alongside emerging talents like Almas Imam Jaffar Ali, Farida Saba, and Kirthiga Prabu.
Each artist brings a unique perspective to the exhibition, evident in the diverse styles and mediums employed. From the delicate details in Almas Imam Jaffar Ali's work to the bold expressions by Farida Saba and the innovative techniques of Kirthiga Prabu, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the breadth of India's artistic heritage.
Pravasi Parichay 2024 serves as a bridge between cultures, using art as a medium to connect people and foster understanding, particularly between India and Saudi Arabia. The exhibition is open throughout the week at the Indian Embassy in Riyadh.
