New Delhi- The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment (DoSJE) has planned a series of activities under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 Campaign 2024 to promote cleanliness, fitness, and environmental sustainability. The campaign will be implemented from 17 September 2024 to 1 October 2024, including the celebration of Swachh Bharat Diwas (SBD) on 2 October 2024.
Before the start of SHS-2024, a meeting was held on 12 September 2024, under the chairmanship of Shri Amit Yadav, Secretary (DoSJE), wherein the importance of Swachhata was emphasized and all the Officers/Staffs were sensitized towards SHS Campaign-2024. A Swachhata Pledge was also handed over by Yadav to the officers and staff of the Department.
The officers were also instructed to encourage the participation of institutions, organizations, and NGOs receiving Grants-In-Aid (GIA) through various schemes of the Department in the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 Campaign, in order to make it a success in the spirit of involvement of the entire society.
Under the leadership of Secretary, DoSJE, three CTUs have been selected to conduct cleanliness and shramdan campaigns during the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024. These include the Campus of Mahila Imdad Committee, Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, and Kothi No. 8, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi.
Along with this, a preventive health check-up camp was also organized by the National Safai Karamchari Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC) on September 21 at the Krishna Market, MCD Community Centre, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi. The camp saw the participation of around 300 people.
