RJD Questions Kishor's Motives, Accuses Him of Hijacking Student Protest

Patna, Bihar – Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, criticized Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Saturday for using a luxurious vanity van during the ongoing BPSC candidates' protest. Yadav accused Kishor of attempting to politicize and hijack the student-led movement.

Yadav emphasized that the students had initially expressed a desire to keep their movement non-political. He stated that the RJD had respected this sentiment and provided moral support without overt politicization. "We met with the protesting students at their request and had written to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar twice regarding their grievances,” Yadav said.

The RJD leader further criticized Kishor's political affiliations, questioning his motives and alleging that he had compromised the students' movement. Yadav pointed out that Mahagathbandhan MLAs had consistently supported the students' demands and questioned why the movement was now being stifled. He alleged that the government had used lathi charges against the students under the guise of maintaining order.

Yadav drew a parallel between the vanity van controversy and a staged production, implying that Kishor was acting as a director or producer behind the scenes. He further questioned Kishor's past role as the national vice president of the Janata Dal (United) (JD-U), specifically his appointment by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Yadav referenced Nitish Kumar's own comments on the matter, questioning the dynamics behind Shah's endorsement. Yadav accused Kishor of not explaining why Union Home Minister Amit Shah supported his appointment to Nitish Kumar's senior position.
